“We are not alone in experiencing difficult times, and we must increase production, while drilling wells cheaper, and faster than ever before. This being said, it is important that everyone gathered here today understands this - I will not drill uneconomical wells”.

Chris Hopkinson, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board, JSC NC KazMunayGas

With the second largest oil reserves as well as the second largest oil production among the former Soviet Republics after Russia, Kazakhstan is at the forefront of the oil and gas sector in the Caspian region. The 2nd KDR, Kazakh Drilling Roundtable, took place in Astana on the 16th of September 2016. It was fully supported under the Platinum Sponsorship and General Event Partnership of JSC NC KazMunayGas. The KDR was a great opportunity for operators and service companies to share knowledge and experience and develop a better understanding of the technology challenges faced by the industry.

As the second in a planned series of specialized roundtable, oil and gas events, to be held in Kazakhstan in association with JSC NC KazMunayGas, the KDR sets benchmarks for the future development of the industry and allows international companies to build long lasting business relationships with the key players in the Kazakh Oil and Gas sectors.

The KDR is an oil and gas event in Kazakhstan which is designed to specifically target the drilling industry.
